Opkomende gezondheids- en veiligheidsrisico’s. 1In November 2019, the first results of the  European Survey of Enterprises on New and Emerging Risks (ESENER-3) were presented: the study of new and emerging risks of employees in Europe. In the context of societal changes, the most common occupational health and safety risk factors are:

  • Repetitive hand or arm movements
(65% of organizations, compared to 52% in 2014),
  • Dealing with difficult customers, students, patients
    (61%, compared to 58% in 2014)
  • Lifting or moving people or heavy loads (54%, versus 47%)

Sitting for long periods is a striking newcomer to the list. In previous editions, this was not asked about. Many organizations indicate that this is a risk.
